About Us

HI! I’m sara—

My name is Sara Alexander, owner of Grace & Genesis. I first heard the word “Doula” in my last year attending the University of Central Florida, where I earned my degree in Early Childhood Development and Education, and I never looked back. From then on, I knew this is where I was supposed to be. To serve.

I understand first hand what it's like to anticipate the arrival of a new baby & maybe think "I do NOT function well without sleep!". With that being said, I have designed these services to give you a peace of mind with being your sounding board in the middle of the night, shoulder to lean on, and most importantly your friend. These past few years as a Postpartum Doula has brought me to work with singletons, twins, triplets, premies, & mothering the mother with postpartum anxiety or depression. When I’m not doing Doula work, you can usually find me at home with my 2.5 year old girly girl, watching Below Deck on my down time, traveling with my partner of 5 years to our favorite places or restaurants, or attending my weekly Pilates classes!

With my experience with helping infants & families, in addition to having a toddler of my own, I know that the newborn days can be challenging yet beautiful. I believe it takes a village, and I'm completely & wholeheartedly honored to be welcomed into a home with open arms! I went into my own postpartum journey thinking “I do this for a living, I should have the upper hand, riiiiight?!” and essentially, got my world rocked. With the start of my own postpartum journey happening fairly recently, I can graciously empathize with new moms walking into their own 4th trimester, providing that calm presence you so desperately crave after your baby is born. I cannot WAIT to meet you & learn about how you envision your postpartum experience to be like!

HI! I’m lyndsay—

With my degree in Early Childhood Education along with serving as a day care provider, most of my career has been dedicated to blessing moms and babies in this challenging yet rewarding time we call parenthood.

It wasn’t until about 3 years ago, in the midst of helping out a family member through her journey of motherhood, did I realize I was being called into this specific role as “Doula”.  My motherhood experience also plays a crucial part in my doula role.  I had a very positive birth and postpartum experience, through the support of those around me! The positive encouragement I received mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually was something I will never forget, & I have an extreme desire to replicate that for all my clients.

I'm excited to partner with other families and educate them on what's best for their particular situation, while giving them a sense of peace and love during this magical time.  The joy that fills my heart from supporting each family is overwhelming and I can't wait to share that joy with you!

When I’m not loving on new families, you will find me cheering on my 3 boys either on the soccer, football, baseball field or on the basketball court.  When my boys don’t have me running from field to field I enjoy spending time with family and friends, taking my fur baby for walks, listening to live music with my husband, playing cards with my kids, and traveling to the beach!

Hi! I’m Ashley—

My name is Ashley Sebens, and I live in Westfield with my husband of 11 years. Together we have 3 kids - a 9 year old daughter & 6 year old twin boys! In between sports, school, and play dates with the kids, I love to read, exercise, & go for walks and bike rides with my family!

I graduated from Purdue University School of Nursing in 2006. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work with babies. I worked in the Neonatal ICU at St. Vincent’s Women’s Hospital for nearly 11 years. It was my dream job, but after my twins were born, I became a stay at home mom. I have loved the time at home with my kids, but I missed working with babies and new moms. I found that being a Postpartum Doula allows me to follow my passion while also allowing me to still be there for my family!

Being a parent in this day and age can be hard. Everyone does it a little differently and with such easy access to the internet, there is a lot of information out there as well as the pressure to research everything! My goal with this role as a Postpartum Doula is to help parents confidently make choices that fit the needs of their family and provide the parents some rest & recharge! Being a Doula is a great privilege, & I can’t wait to be yours!

Hello! I’m Abby!—

I became a Postpartum Doula after having three little girls of my own, a 5 year old & 2.5 year old twins. One late night scrolling while up feeding my twins, I came across certifications for becoming a postpartum doula. I knew instantly when the time was right I wanted to pursue this path. I come from a big family. I’m the youngest of 9 children myself, and my love of kids has stemmed from looking after my many nieces and nephews at a young age, and carrying through my 12+ years of nanny experience.

After nannying for over a decade, the leap to Postpartum Doula work was the next step in both my career and passion. I understand the plight that many young families can go through during the early months (for both parents and babies!), and hope to continue to lend my care and experience for those looking for postpartum help. I love the opportunity to give parents both the relief of experienced assistance and offer them tools for the future.

In my free time I love to spend time outdoors with my girls, and have been honing in my green thumb with my joy of houseplants and gardening. In the summer we enjoy visiting family near Lake Michigan! I stay active with exercising and swimming (although 3 little girls keep me on my toes quite a bit). My husband and I both love music, hiking and cooking. I’m looking forward to continuing to help & support families as they grow— can’t wait to meet you!

Hi! I’m Caroline —

I live on the west side of Indianapolis and I’m honored and so grateful to bless other mommas and their families with understanding and compassionate care during their postpartum journey. The driving force for me becoming a Doula was to be able to show up for mommas like I needed— and it is an absolute privilege to be here!

As a mother of four myself, I can confidently say this beautiful, transitional time differs for everyone and each baby— that’s what makes being a Postpartum Doula so special! Figuring out what each family truly needs and supporting them through parenthood is an amazing opportunity and I am so happy to be here doing just that!

When I’m not “moming” my own 10 year old, 8 year old, and 4 year old twins, I’m usually drinking coffee at their baseball games, dance recitals, working out, or cooking. I am a super social person, so I love connecting with other mommas and meeting them right where they need met. I hope to come to you as a person of support, and leave you feeling even more confident in your motherhood journey.
