Placenta Encapsulation

placenta encapsulation

Is this for me?

The placenta is an incredible organ that nourishes your baby/babies in utero. In return of nourishing your baby in the womb, some mothers choose to encapsulate the placenta to nourish their own body. The placenta is loaded with vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and iron. Supporters of this practice say that placenta pills can help prevent anemia, boost milk supply, balance hormones, and even lower one’s chance of developing postpartum depression.

In the placenta encapsulation process the placenta is dehydrated, ground into a powdered form, and then sealed in vitamin-sized capsules. It is recommended to discuss the benefits and risks of encapsulation with a care provider before & after your birth. A care provider will then determine the status of your placenta after birth, stating if it is deemed safe to encapsulate.

Details:

You will provide your estimated due date along with a $100 deposit and signed contract. Next, you will then text/call when you are in early labor to give notice so arrival to pick up your placenta will be in a timely manner. Pickup will then happen at your place of birth within a few hours of your delivery. Encapsulating a placenta is typically a 24-30 hour start-to-finish process, therefore when it is finished it will then get delivered back to you whether you are still at your place of birth or back in your bed at home! You will then send the remainder of the fee after delivery of your encapsulated placenta.

Note: Sometimes you can plan to have your placenta encapsulated and then are not able to due to your medical provider deeming it unsafe to consume from the state of the placenta (for multiple reasons). If this is the scenario, I will send the $100 deposit back to you so no money is lost.
